Dear Eagle Families -
It’s time for our annual Special Staff Collection! This year, it’s bigger and better than ever since we aren’t doing bundt cakes anymore. We’re collecting money to cover gifts for Special Staff and non-building folks such as crossing guards and bus drivers. If you aren’t in a reading mood - here’s the bottom line: click here to sign up and donate below. If you want the deets on why we support these awesome folks - read on!
Our special staff play such an important role in making OSS a wonderful place for our children. From custodians, lunch staff, and specials teachers, to instructional support aides, administrative assistants and more, there are over 65 non-classroom staff that help our Eagle students on a daily basis! This will be our third year to collect voluntary contributions and divide them among the special staff. They are so touched and appreciative of their gifts, and we want to keep it up!
In addition to special staff gifts, last year we gave cakes to over ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY people. In lieu of cakes, we will be giving small appreciation gifts to all these people. (Not mugs. Don’t worry.) This includes classroom teachers, people outside the building like crossing guards and bus drivers, as well as the special staff mentioned above.
So - let’s show some love to these amazing folks that we hand our kiddos over to every day. We are hoping to collect $4000, which will cover everything mentioned above. Any additional funds raised will be put towards a gift card raffle. No more running out for eggs and cake mix on a cold Sunday in December. No more desperately texting a neighbor to borrow a bundt pan. Just a voluntary donation. Did I mention no more baking? And that these lovely folks spend over 30 hours a week with our kids?
Contributions are not required, but if you'd like to contribute, here's how:
- Sign up for a slot(s) on Signup Genius HERE.
- Send $$ via Membership Toolkit, or check to the OSS PTO via backpack labeled “PTO Special Staff Donation”
Please note, this is separate from any classroom teacher gift collection from your student’s classroom parent(s).
Happy Holidays, and thank you in advance for any contribution you choose to make!
